Turn a vague request into a useful prompt

Improve this request: “Teach me networking.” Prepare a prompt for a 20-minute beginner session on packet loss, using only fictional examples.

  1. Name one observable learning outcome.
  2. Specify learner level, duration and output format.
  3. Add an example and a check for understanding.
  4. Include a requirement to flag assumptions and verify calculations.
Compare with an explained example

Example prompt: Plan a 20-minute introductory lesson on packet loss for adult beginners. Outcome: calculate loss rate from sent and lost packet counts. Allocate 3 minutes to an opening example, 5 to explanation, 8 to practice and 4 to an exit question. Return a timed table, one worked example and an exit question with a solution. Use fictional numbers, show units and assumptions, and flag any facts requiring teacher verification. Other prompts can work if they satisfy the same criteria.
